On-Camera Intensive w/ Jason LaPadura!
Jason is a Head CD at LaPadura/Hart/Patterson Casting!
Jason is a native New Yorker, who began working in show business at the age of 10. Before becoming a Casting Director, he was an actor and stage manager, working on and off Broadway and at many high profile regional theaters around the country.
At the age of 21, he made his Broadway debut in William Inge's "Summer Brave". He also worked for Joseph Papp's New York Shakespeare Festival, where he worked on more than two dozen productions, including the original production of Michael Bennett's "A Chorus Line", David Mamet's "The Water Engine" on Broadway, and "Measure for Measure" starring Meryl Streep, John Cazale and Sam Waterson at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park.
As a Casting Director, Jason has hundreds of film, television, and stage projects. He's been Emmy nominated for Outstanding Casting of a Television Series, has been nominated 8 times for the CSA's Artios Award (winning once). Jason is also the recipient of the Media Access Award presented by the state of California for his work in casting actors with disabilities and special needs.
He was also a judge for Miss America in 2008 and for Miss America's Outstanding Teen in 2010! As you can see, Jason has quite the resume!

Auditioning in the 21st Century
Objective: To provide help and guidance to ensure a positive audition experience

Guided Practice: students will present, individually to all participants, previously assigned material, to which the instructor will address and assess any or all of the above topics applicable to the presented work.
Review and closing after all scenes have been worked.
Sides Note: For this workshop, please do NOT prepare sides. Jason will email out sides 1-2 days before class - as always, please bring an extra copy for the reader, with their lines highlighted!
Format Note: This class will use a full group setting!

The format for each week will be:
- Week 1: How to properly prepare for your auditions: both live and on-camera
- Week 2: How to relate to the camera to make the most of your on-camera experience
- Week 3: Being a working acting today
Each participant will recieve and prepare three different sets of material. Weeks 2 and 3 will be done on-camera in the room. You will gain information on how to successfully audition in today's ever changing market!
