ONLINE Audiobook Workshop w/ Khai Dattoli!
Khai Dattoli is the Senior Casting Director for the audiobook production company Deyan Audio, the largest audiobook producer on the West Coast. She has cast books for most of the major publishing companies, including Penguin Random House, Scholastic, HarperCollins, Recorded Books, Simon and Schuster, Brilliance, Blackstone, and Hachette. Favorite projects she's worked on are the "SlappyWorld" series by R.L. Stine and How High We Go in the Dark, nominated for a 2023 Audie Award.
The format for this online VO Class will be:
- Before the workshop, you need to record yourself reading 3 pages of a book (ideally choose a section in the book in which you voice 3 different voices: the narrator, a speaking character of your sex, and a different speaking character of a different sex)
- Email Sara your mp3 file of your recording of the 3 book pages
- Sara will pass along your audio files to the guest director who will review your mp3s before the workshop
- In the workshop, our guest director will give notes on the audio files, both on performance and home audio quality, re-directs if they so choose, and engage in a Q&A
