Seen/Unseen: 3-Day Intensive w/ Kendra Castleberry

LESSON PLAN
This 3 week Zoom class will focus on how an actor is perceived by casting versus how they want to be perceived. And trying to find a bridge between the two.
IN ADVANCE:
Actors will submit their headshot, resume, and demo (if they have one) to Kendra. This can be sent in no later than 3 days prior to Class 1.
WEEK 1:
Lecture covering the following topics:
- My background
- What is the role of a casting director?
- Differing qualifications for various projects and roles
Scenework: Based on the materials submitted by the actor in advance, an assigned scene will be sent to actors 24-48 hours prior to Class 1. Notes and redirection will be given to every actor.
WEEK 2:
Lecture covering the following topics:
- Tracking projects/roles that are right for you
- Building your personal sides/scripts library
- Creating your Actor Resource Bubble
Scenework: Actors will prepare a 2-3 page scene of their choice, which highlights how they'd like to be seen. All sides must be from projects that have already been cast and produced/aired and sent to Kendra 24-48 hours prior to class to review. Actors will read 1-on-1 w/ Kendra, but in front of the entire class. Notes and redirection will be given to every actor.
Actors will have the opportunity at ask questions at the end of class during Weeks 1 and 2, so as to gain further understanding of the days lesson.
WEEK 3:
Lecture covering the following topics:
- Enhanced marketing materials (website, press packets)
- How to use social media to advance your career
- Building your team
Following the lecture, actors will be brought in 1-on-1 (in 10 minute blocks) to discuss how they felt about the scenes they got to do the first two weeks, address individual concerns, brainstorm solutions to any frustrations and make proactive adjustments for the future.
NOTE: It is required that actors who sign up for this class be able to attend all 3 weeks. Each actor's takes of their scenes will be taped for their personal review. No video or audio recordings of any other portion of the class (lecture, redirection or feedback) will be allowed.
