Jane Flowers' Lesson Plan For All Workshops:
- INTRO AND CASTING BIO
- SELF TAPING TIPS: DO'S AND DON'TS
- HOW TO IMPRESS A CASTING OFFICE-- What is in your control as an actor and will get you brought in over and over again? The 4 P's: Be PUNCTUAL, Be PREPARED, Be POLITE, Be PROFESSIONAL
- HOW TO KEEP IN CONTACT WITH ME-- The answer is... YOU DON'T NEED TO!! What you DO need to do, however, is keep your materials & contact info up to date on IMDBPRO and BREAKDOWNS EXPRESS.
- Q&A-- Open the floor to any questions
- PREPARED SCENES-- everyone will have a chance to perform a 2 MINUTE MAXIMUM scene (honestly, the shorter the better so we can DIG in) of their choosing. I will discuss the scene and your choices, and give EVERYONE at least one adjustment, although I may not ask all to do the WHOLE thing again, depending on length. Pick your scene thoughtfully. I encourage everyone to challenge themselves and come in with something specific in mind they'd like to work on.
- WRAP UP/FINAL QUESTIONS
**Please Make Sure To Read All The Details About This Class (format, sides, etc.)**
Sides Note: Prepared Scenes/Actor provided - You will choose your own scene to perform for class. Please follow our Sides Policy (check our FAQs) about approval. Sides must run under 3min/3pages & also be from a TV/Film/Play that has already aired (for TV – the actual episode). Per CSA, you can't use current audition sides.
**Please email us your scene the day before class, so that we can review it. Label the file: YourName_Role_TV/FilmName
Format Note: *Online Class* Live Scenework
This class will take place on Zoom! A link will be emailed out a few hours before class. At the beginning of class, there will be an interactive Q&A – the CD will go over their lesson plan (featured above). Actors are encouraged to ask questions =) After the Q&A, each actor will perform their scene – the CD will give feedback/adjustments etc. In most cases we will provide a reader, unless the CD prefers to read with the actors.
Scenework classes run about +/- 2-3 hours. Attendance at the start of class is required – if you have to leave early, always email us ahead of time.
