Jason's Lesson Plan For All Workshops:
We will start the Q & A with a brief description of my background and experience in casting. We will discuss:
- HOW MY OFFICE WORKS AND EXPECTATIONS.
- THE IMPORTANCE OF PREPARATION
- WARDROBE AND PROPS.
- READING THE ROOM
- SELF TAPING DO'S AND DON'TS
- WHAT ARE CASTING DIRECTORS/EXECUTIVES PET PEEVES
- WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR ON YOUR HEADSHOTS AND RESUME
- TRAINING – WHAT MAKES A PRODUCER OR EXECUTIVE FEEL CONFIDENT HIRING YOU
- EVERYTHING IS SUBJECTIVE -- WHAT THEN CAN YOU CONTROL?
- WHAT MAKES A GOOD AUDITION?
This event will introduce you to our new space and VO booth! We will start with a Q&A, followed by scenes - actors will get to work two times:
- 2-3 page scene that follows our standards sides policy. You will get feedback and a redirect
- 15-30 second spot in the VO booth
This will function as a normal workshop, except you will get to work on both types of material!

Sides Note: Prepared scenes. Please prepare any scene that has been pre-approved (or listed on Script Clips).
Email us your scene the night before, so that we can have it ready for the reader before class. Scenes must NOT run longer than three minutes. Please refer to our FAQs on what scenes are allowed.
Format Note::Small Groups. After the Q&A, groups of 3-5 actors will stay in the room and work their scenes. They will perform one at time, while the other watches the feedback and redirection. Once all actors have performed, they will leave and the next group will come into the room
