Christy's Lesson Plan For All Workshops:
- ACTORS WILL BE SPLIT INTO GROUPS, EACH GROUP HAVING THE SAME SET OF SIDES. THIS GIVES THE STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE HOW A GROUP OF ACTORS CAN HANDLE THE SAME SIDES DIFFERENTLY.
- CHOICES - GOOD AND BAD
- CREATING ENVIRONMENT, MAKING THE MOMENT BEFORE COUNT, AND LOOKING AT PURPOSE
- WHY THE WRITERS WROTE YOUR ROLE INTO THE SCRIPT.
- CHRISTY WILL ALSO INVOLVE THE ACTORS IN THE CRITIQUING PROCESS.

The format will be as follows:
- Week 1: actors will perform PREPARED U/5 sides EMAILED TO THEM BEFOREHAND (at least 24 hours in advance). They will be split into groups, each group having the same set of sides. This gives the students the opportunity to see how a group of actors can handle the same sides differently. We look at choices, good and bad, creating environment, making the moment before count and looking at purpose and why the writers wrote your role into the script. I involve the actors in the critiquing process. The actors get notes from me that they will apply to their reading of the scene the following week. We also discuss the Day Player role which they will perform week 2.
- Week 2: At the top of class the actors redo the U/5 scene from Week 1 incorporating the notes I gave them. Then they perform the day player scene, which has been emailed to them at least 24 hours in advance. The format works the same as Week 1.
NOTE: BOTH WEEKS WILL USE A GROUP SETTING! YOU CANNOT CANCEL THIS EVENT AFTER MONDAY, 11.28 @ 7PM
