This 3-week intensive will focus on the audition scenarios you are likely to encounter in TV casting: on-tape sessions with casting, live producer sessions, and chemistry read sessions.
LESSON PLAN:
These topics will be discussed over the course of the 3 weeks:
· How episodic TV auditions vary from auditions for pilots, film or theatre
· The basics of script analysis (who, what, where, when, why?)
· The importance of watching “TV” as homework and how to gain insight from it for your auditions
· Feeling and conveying confidence in the audition room
· How to interpret confusing direction
· How to adjust your audition for the camera
· Letting the audition go and moving on to the next
· Importance of continued training
· The role of the casting director
WEEK 1: On-Tape Sessions
WEEK 2: Live Producer Sessions
WEEK 3: Chemistry Reads
Each week will incorporate a discussion and scene work. All scene work will be done in a classroom setting, so that actors learn not just from Kendra but from each other.
There will also be a time for Q&A each week, allowing actors to get clarity on anything they saw in class or get specific answers on topics of their choosing.
EACH WEEK OF THIS CLASS BUILDS ON THE LAST, SO KENDRA ASKS THAT ACTORS COMMIT TO ATTENDING ALL 3 WEEKS. PLEASE BE ON TIME AND PREPARED TO STAY FOR THE DURATION OF THE CLASS.
