We will start the Q & A with a brief description of my background and experience in casting. We will discuss:
- HOW MY OFFICE WORKS AND EXPECTATIONS.
- THE IMPORTANCE OF PREPARATION
- WARDROBE AND PROPS.
- READING THE ROOM
- SELF TAPING DO'S AND DON'TS
- WHAT ARE CASTING DIRECTORS/EXECUTIVES PET PEEVES
- WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR ON YOUR HEADSHOTS AND RESUME
- TRAINING – WHAT MAKES A PRODUCER OR EXECUTIVE FEEL CONFIDENT HIRING YOU
- WHY AM I NOT BOOKING A ROLE?
- WHAT MAKES A GOOD AUDITION?
Format Note: This class will be on Zoom! Actors must self tape a scene of their choice - this is due by MIDNIGHT the day before class. You can pick any scene to tape (just make sure it follows our sides policy). We will put a link together containing all the tapes, so that you can view each others work. Barbara will provide written feedback for each tape. We will send out a Zoom link before class starts - just join the meeting, and we will begin. We will start w/ a live Q&A, covering the lesson plan above.
*If you absolutely don't have the ability to self tape, you can work your scene live during the Zoom session - just let us know in advance*
