ONLINE Animation Class w/ JP Karliak!
Voiceover actor, writer, and snappy dresser, JP is the voice of Boss Baby in The Boss Baby: Back in Business and has played such iconic characters as the Tin Man, Wile E. Coyote, Willy Wonka, and a slew of Marvel heroes and villains including Loki, the Vision, Hawkeye, Wiccan, and even Black Cat. Other animated credits a neurotic dog in Secret Life of Pets 2, Batgirl's gay BFF in Batman: The Killing Joke, and the stoic Kozo Fuyutsuki in the Netflix dub of Neon Genesis Evangelion. On the interactive side, notable credits include Rex Dangervest in The Lego Movie 2 Videogame and Wolfgang in the Skylanders series. JP is also an award-winning solo performer with his one-man show Donna/Madonna, and an advocate for LGBTQ+ representation in media. He is a co-founder of the non-partisan organization NerdsVote, linking cosplayers, gamers, con-goers, and pop culture fans of all kinds to voter registration opportunities, and co-hosts NerdsVote’s biweekly Instagram Live show Between 2 Nerds featuring celebrity “Notable Nerds” sharing what voting means to them. @nerdsvote & @jpkarliak
Our new ACE VO online Zoom workshop format will be:
- Before the workshop, Sara will pass along scripts/sides for the participants
- You will record yourself voicing the side, and email Sara your mp3 file(s) (The deadline for emailing Sara your mp3, will typically be 5pm two days before the workshop. If you are a late sign-up, you can send in later and will work that out with Sara :)
- Sara will pass along your audio files to the guest director who will review your mp3s before the workshop
- In the workshop, our guest director will give notes on the audio files, both on performance and home audio quality, re-directs if they so choose, and engage in a Q&A
