The Approval Process
- CASTING -> PRODUCERS -> STUDIO -> NETWORK
- PINNING = BEING PUT ON HOLD UNTIL A DECISION IS MADE OR A SCHEDULE HAS BEEN PUBLISHED. TYPICALLY ANYWHERE FROM 2-5 PEOPLE CAN BE PINNED AT ONCE
Common Mistakes Commonly Seen
- NOT BEING PREPARED – IF YOU GET THE SIDES AT THE LAST MINUTE OR YOU JUST DIDN’T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO PREPARE, HAVE YOUR AGENT ASK FOR A RESCHEDULE. IT NEVER HURTS TO ASK. BUT IT DOES HURT TO BE UNPREPARED.
- NOT BEING FAMILIAR WITH THE SHOW OR “WORLD”. EVEN A GOOGLE SEARCH COUNTS AS DOING THE WORK!
- NOT KNOWING WHO IS IN THE ROOM OR WHO TO THANK
- NOT TAKING THE TIME YOU NEED. WE’RE (USUALLY) IN NO RUSH.

Sides Note: For this workshop, please use sides from Ramani's folder - found HERE. If the sides have more than one scene, please pick your favorite one. Again - one scene only! And please remember to bring a second copy, with the readers lines highlighted.
Format Note: Dynamic Duo. After the Q & A, 2 actors will go into the room at the same time. They will perform one at time, while the other watches the feedback and redirection. Once both actors have performed, they will leave and the next duo will come in the room.

The format for each week will be:
- Week 1: Actors will bring prepared scenes for the first class. This way, Ramani can get a sense for each actor and what to assign them.
- Week 2: Ramani will pair actors up and assign scenes. These will be sent to each actor 1-2 days before class.
